![]() This will provide a quick way to get back into the area if you have to fast travel out for whatever reason. The safest bet, especially if you're not using Power Armor or you don't have many Fusion Cores is to find theĮlectrical Hobbyist's Club which is just on the edge of the Glowing Sea. Looking at the map, you need to be heading towards the bottom left corner, or directly south west. So, essentially, any companion who isn't a human. If you're taking a companion with you, you'll need one who is Rad-resistant. ![]() If you're out in the open without protection you'll be killed pretty quickly by the rads, so be prepared. You'll also need some pretty strong Rad-resistant gear so the Before even daring to start this mission, make sure you have huge amounts of The Glowing Sea, a heavily irradiated area in the bottom south-west of the map. The Institute is to find the only person to successfully escape the scientist Virgil. I'll try that as soon as I can, many thanks.Doctor Amari that your best chance to get into You could try going back and talking to them again.Īh, that makes sense. ![]() There's a hidden "immunity to radiation" perk that the NPCs in the Crater apply while you're speaking to them (presumably so that you don't die mid-conversation), which might have somehow been left in place when you ended dialogue with them. Just damage, health and crafting perks with a rank in ricochet for the funny meme moments when a sentry bot commits sodoku. No rad resist, solar powered, ghoulish or any of the sort. Just Aquagirl which shouldn't be the issue given I take it on all my characters. You are level 96 what perks for dealing with radiation do you have?īelieve it or not, none. I seem to heal rads at a pretty rapid clip in sunlight. On survival mode I got 10 EN and the heals rads 'slowly' in sunlight. First I'll be checking if rad sources outside the sea were affected. I had to make a beeline for one of my settlements to save but I'll be going back to check again pretty soon. ![]() On further inspection there are actually no rads at all, even in the glowy puddles and lakes. It might seem like a strange thing to want, but after spending so long preparing just to have it turn out to be just as unthreatening (In terms of rads, I had to fight through at least four Deathclaws of varying tiers on my way here plus some extremely tanky and hard hitting scorpions.) everywhere else is kind of a letdown and I would prefer not relying on the bug if it is at all possible to revert it. What I'm curious about is if anyone else has had a similar experience and if they found a way to restore the native radiation? I'm not exactly complaining about that, it did throw a wrench in my "Refreshing Beverage mountain stored in Dogmeat's ♥♥♥♥♥♥" plan, but it's a boon more than anything. Now I'm level 96 after fighting my way to the Children of Atom in the crater and since I reached the objective there I have not been getting any radiation damage besides the obvious glowing pools of goop and yellow barrels. As such I focused more on exploring and leveling up while establishing a decent amount of secure settlements with a near limitless supply of food and water. So I've been here multiple times on regular playthroughs about a year ago, before I "migrated" to Survival.
